Your 20s are Strange… Everyone is Either Getting Married, Running Marathons, or Traveling the World
Your twenties are the strangest decade of your life. (Now, take that with a grain of salt, as you’re reading this post from the perspective of a 24-year-old writer). It truly is though. People are getting married in their twenties, and other people getting divorced. There are people still finishing college, and others who have been working since high school. Some people are buying houses and having children, while others are constantly roaming the world.
There are many paths you can take in your twenties, and I think there is beauty in that. As a woman, it wasn’t too long ago that we didn’t have the privilege to choose the path for our future. Sometimes, I forget that.
I think there is also a beauty in the journey that your twenties take you on. It’s easy to get lost, but you have to remember to find yourself. Remember the people who have stayed with you throughout the journey, and be grateful for the lessons that others taught you who have only been there for a portion of it. Take some time to stop and reflect on how far you’ve come, even if it may feel like you keep going back to square one.
I’m keeping this post short and sweet, but here’s to figuring it out together in our twenties.
